依據道路交通安全規則第109條第1項規定，汽車行駛時，應依相關規定使用燈光。包括夜間應開亮頭燈；行經隧道、調撥車道應開亮頭燈；遇濃霧、雨、雪、天色昏暗或視線不清時，應開亮頭燈；非遇雨、霧時，不得使用霧燈：行經公路主管機關或警察機關公告之山區或特殊路線之路段，涵洞或車行地下道，應依標誌指示使用燈光。
