1.這是2017年3月19日的香港新聞，但須提醒「死者因公廁沖水感染食肉菌」屬死者家屬推測，尚無明確證據。
　
2.同日香港食物及衞生局局長高永文有公開回應此案，表示食肉菌確實在社區環境都存在，做好個人和公眾衛生才能預防，並提及醫院會盡量找出死者遭受感染的源頭。
　
3.食肉菌確實可能導致壞死性筋膜炎，該疾病確實會在體內迅速傳播，死亡率高達25-35%。
