紐約州新型冠狀病毒肺炎疫情在22日確診人數突破1萬5000人，隨著每日確診數增加，對醫療系統造成嚴重負擔；亞美醫師協會總裁和會長劉季高撰文建議白宮，將救護車作為新冠肺炎流動檢驗中心，若有民眾出現疑似症狀，就可派救護車到家門口現場檢驗，以紓緩急診室壓力，劉季高也說，目前已獲得相關單位同意，預計最快將於下周開始試行該計畫。劉季高說，若能將救護車當作流動篩檢中心，在民眾出現疑似感染症狀時，先致電給家庭醫

目前並無救護車從芝加哥送到紐約的消息，僅有新聞報導紐約將試辦救護車作為武漢肺炎的流動篩檢中心機制，以減輕醫療系統負擔。另外根據美國CDC統計資料，目前紐約州確實是武漢肺炎疫情最嚴重的地區。
