依據中央銀行公開的「流通幣防偽」指出，現行新台幣鈔券使用的防偽設計包含：凹版印紋、水印、變色油墨、窗式安全線、隱藏字、光影變化箔膜、金屬油墨等，可以簡單3口訣「看一看」「摸一摸」「轉一轉」來辨識；另外，硬幣則有隱藏圖案、浮凸點、幣邊滾字等防偽設計。
