國家中醫藥研究所副所長邱文慧表示，根據研究，中藥複方會和棘蛋白結合，在第一線阻斷病毒感染、抑制病毒複製，同時抑制細胞激素風暴出現，其中「黃芩」、「魚腥草」是清除病毒關鍵成分，「黃芩」更同時兼具抑制細胞激素風暴效果，但這些藥方單獨使用效果都沒有複方好，因此仍須進一步驗證。
