為遏止石虎路殺，降低事故發生率，公路總局與苗栗縣政府分別在台13甲、苗140線設置區間測速，預計7月完工，待通過交通部「區間平均速率執法系統基本功能規範」後啟用，但區間測速與固定式測速桿功能重複，縣警局因此將原台13甲的「桿王」，移至頭屋鄉台13線，預計11月正式執法。桿王移往頭屋鄉台13線苗140線、台13甲不僅超速案件頻傳，也是石虎路殺的熱門路段，區間測速設備預計7月完工、8月驗收，9、10月
