這個方法尚無共識。網傳馬桶水箱掛口罩放肥皂的方法過去有類似的方法是使用襪子，不過不同意見指出容易使襪子產生水垢孳生細菌，並不建議這樣做，而口罩可能也會有類似的情形，所以並不建議。
