現實是，香港市民在被捕、被輪姦、被射殺等恐嚇下，仍有十萬人無懼極權上街。雖然中共以一貫手法插入間諜、臥底警察在示威群中挑釁，也在網路群組、大學裡滲透，然而香港最強的群眾效應（critical mass），即是抗衡中共間諜混入運動的重要屏障。故此，香港的媒體雖和台灣一樣被染紅，但在香港的網路媒體上，五毛基本上無法發揮影響力。
