台電對外表示，今下午4時51分桃園大潭電廠6部機組跳脫，因供電容量減少約400萬瓩，電力系統頻率瞬間降低，因而自動啟動低頻電驛的安全保護措施，造成全台多處停電，台電緊急處理後陸續恢復供電。
