中共官媒《央視新聞》報導，西昌衛星發射中心使用「長征二號丙運載火箭」，將愛因斯坦探針衛星發射升空，衛星順利進入預定軌道，發射任務獲得圓滿成功。有民眾疑似拍到中國衛星飛越台灣上空的畫面，地點在高雄市中華路，也有民眾認為畫面可能非中國發射的衛星，因為高度在大氣層外不可能拍到，內容有待證實。
