目前台北、新北、桃園、台南、高雄、苗栗縣等6縣市的公共自行車，各縣市政府都已經為民眾投保好自行車險，民眾只需要上網或在租借站登錄被保險人資料即可，保費政府負擔。

於騎乘時，若發生意外事故造成被保險人死亡、失能(殘廢)及住院時，可憑醫療單據等文件，向保險公司申請保險理賠，保險金額最高理賠100萬元(未滿15足歲者，依法僅給付失能保險金)，傷害住院日額最高1,000元。
