針對家長關心的安全性不良反應，台大公衛流病與預醫所教授陳秀熙研究團隊表示，分析BNT疫苗及莫德納疫苗的實證資料，顯示兩者對於急診、住院或感染的預防效果皆達七成，長庚大學醫院系小兒科教授林奏延表示，以全球染疫死亡率估算，我恐有五十例兒童確診死亡，呼籲盡速討論幼兒打疫苗，並建議第一劑疫苗以mRNA疫苗為主，減少兒童重症機會。
