冬季為急性腸胃炎的好發季節，近期日本、韓國、中國大陸北京及英國急性腸胃炎疫情上升，且多與諾羅病毒感染有關。台中市政府衛生局表示，諾羅病毒傳染力強，任何年齡層皆可能被感染，提醒民眾應加強個人及飲食衛生，防範疫情發生。

衛生局指出，諾羅病毒流行期自每年9月至隔年5月間，透過食入被病毒汙染的食物或飲水、吸入病人嘔吐物所產生的飛沫、或接觸被病毒汙染的物品而感染，主要症狀為水瀉、嘔吐，並可能伴隨頭痛、發燒、腹部痙攣、胃痛、噁心、肌肉酸痛等。
