人眼隨時都在調整進光量自我保護,而長時間看著螢幕產生的疲勞多半來自眨眼頻率的降低導致的乾澀,光亮本身是否會引起嚴重失明如黃斑部病變,目前並無證據,但是合理推論要是此亮度就會失明,那麼白天在外工作之人應該很快就都失明了,因為太陽亮度遠超過手機業間的預設亮度。但確實是有實驗在探討夜晚使用數位螢幕對日夜睡眠節律與褪黑激素的影響,只是尚未有成果發表。現在就說會導致失明是明顯的製造恐慌。
