陳建仁說其自我要求，要做「世上的光地上的鹽」來替大家服務。大多數組織權力研究文獻皆定義權力為影響他人之行為與態度之能力或潛在可能性，用政治來為民服務對政治工作者是很理性的決策，撰文者把「參與政治」與「照亮的只有他自己」做連結，為從政賦予負面意義，並不是理性討論的思維。
