資深經濟學家是虛構出來增加權威的名號，原文在中國內容農場2019年就出現了，而這則謠言也只出現在中國內容農場網站上。總統府公開談話時，也對國人信心喊話，強調各項民生物資都有足夠存量，她更「我們會確保穩定的供給，民眾不需要搶購、囤積物資。如果有囤積或炒作價格的人，政府一定會重罰。 」因此不用太擔心，這只是一則謠言。
