苗栗縣警局刑警大隊副大隊長朱添助表示，民眾遇到類似情形時，應要求對方站在自己身旁，也就是ATM的監視器攝錄範圍內，如果對方坦蕩蕩、真的是文盲或不會操作，理應不會心虛害怕；如果對方故意站得遠遠的，和提款機保持距離，這就要小心了。
