胭脂蟲紅(Carmine)是由雌性胭脂蟲血液所提煉出來,為天然來源所萃取出來的食用色素,常用於糖果、火腿、香腸與飲料當中,當你看到食品成分表上所標示的色素為「胭脂紅」時,其實就是主成分為胭脂蟲酸(Carminic Acid)提煉而來的食用色素。不管是人工合成色素,還是天然來源的胭脂紅或其他植物性色素,在合法的使用範圍下皆不會對人體健康造成傷害。
