台灣經濟部發文強調，台積電美廠2萬片的月產量在全球先進制程佔比僅有2%左右，而台積電仍然持續在台投資，除了3奈米已在台南試量產、2奈米也開始在新竹整地，政府更針對1奈米制程啟動擴大計劃。換言之，台灣仍將最高階的晶片留在台灣，並沒有赴美生產。台灣經濟部稱，所謂掏空台灣論是意圖離間美台關係。
