影片中，手心朝對方、彎曲拇指再握拳的手勢，確實是加拿大婦女基金會在 2020 年所發明的家暴求救手勢。目前此手勢仍由美國與加拿大民間推廣中，與「現通行全世界」還有一段距離。

加拿大婦女基金會表示，COVID-19 疫情的封城政策下，家暴與性別暴力頻傳，此手勢在設計上可以讓受暴者在視訊通話時，向人不著痕跡的求救。
