依聯合報報導，臺南市府回應，「南榮科大確實是由中央徵用做為集中檢疫所，目前南下主要是苗栗京元電篩檢為陰性的移工，也有分送到台中、彰化與嘉義，由於是高規格的檢疫所，不會對周遭居民產生影響。」
