若筷子清洗不徹底,腸桿菌、金黃色葡萄球菌、幽門螺桿菌等致病菌,將可能透過筷子傳播,在合適的環境下,細菌繁殖速度更是約20分鐘增加1倍,而且78%的胃癌被歸因於慢性幽門螺桿菌的感染,若共用筷子或相互夾菜,都可能交叉感染,若殘留幽門螺桿菌在筷子上,被感染的機率將會大幅提升。
