新竹縣政府稅務局表示，汽車不依限期參加定期檢驗，除會被監理機關處以罰鍰外如逾期6個月以上者，還會被註銷牌照，車主如未重新驗車、領牌，使用公共道路被查獲（包括動態行駛與靜態停放公共道路），除應追補本稅（註銷牌照日至查獲日止）外，另將被處應納稅額2倍以下的罰鍰，再加上監理機關的罰鍰，實在是得不償失。
