食藥署表示，暫不打算改變日本食品邊境管制措施，但考量到海洋擴散、廢水排放以及食物鏈等因素，優先加強抽驗「日本鯖魚、秋刀魚、海鰻、牡蠣、扇貝及海藻類」。建議半年內至少先避開福島的漁獲，並避免食用魚骨、魚頭等，因為鍶90這類型的放射性物質，比較容易累積在骨骼中。
