此為假消息，老人健保補助由社會局主動審查，民眾無需另外申請。社會局於長者首次年齡及設籍符合時，將主動查調審查補助相關資格，符合臺北市老人健保自付額補助資格者，由社會局代為將補助款撥付給中央健康保險署(每人每月以第六類保險對象自付額749元為補助上限)，不會直接撥付補助款給長者。相關補助資訊可至社會局網站查詢(網址：https://dosw.gov.taipei/，點選相關服務之「銀髮族服務」→「健保費補助及健康維護」→「老人健保補助」)
